Welcome to the WCGH Foundation
Our Foundation is the key fundraising partner of the West Coast General Hospital. The hospital serves the Alberni Valley, the West Coast communities of Bamfield, Ucluelet and Tofino, and all points in between. The Foundation raises funds to support capital projects that are beyond the budgetary limits of the Hospital to ensure our whole community benefits from enhanced healthcare services. In 29 years of operation, together with our generous donors, we have raised over $4,000,000 to purchase or assist in the purchase of vital equipment for our hospital.
2019 Holiday Campaign Nears its Goal!
In this season of giving, we still need your help to raise $12,000 to purchase an Alenti Bath Chair for WESTHAVEN and $45,000 for a Cellavision DC-1 for the WCGH Laboratory. As of the New Year, we are 70% of the way there and the campaign has less than a month to go. We hope the continuing generosity of the Alberni Valley will help us reach this ambitious goal.
The Alenti Bath Chair will improve the quality of daily life for Westhaven residents, ensure safety and comfort during hygiene routines, and provide better ergonomic working conditions for our staff. Click here for more information.
The WCGH Laboratory will benefit greatly using their new Cellavision DC-1 for blood testing. It is specifically designed to automate and simplify the process of performing blood cell differentials. It will capture high-quality images of cells more easily by making better use of staff time & skills and delivering test results faster. Click here to learn more.

Our Westhaven Campaign: In the Foundation’s first-ever fundraising campaign for Westhaven, your generousity has helped us raise $20,000 to help us buy two medication carts and a washer-sterilizer unit, essential equipment items that are urgently needed by the Westhaven staff. Just as the community has always been so generous in the past for hospital fundraising efforts, we are grateful the same level of support you have offered to Westhaven.

West Coast General Hospital Foundation steps up for Westhaven. The foundation responsible for fundraising for the West Coast General Hospital (WCGH) will soon take Westhaven under its wing.
Westhaven Multi-Level Care is a long-term senior care facility located on the WCGH grounds. The Friends of Westhaven Society was formed in 2006 with the goal of providing additional service and fundraising activities to support the residents and staff of the facility, which led to initiatives like a community garden for the facility.
